These are my six dollar pants that I found at Target. I believe I always bring this up every time I wear them, I just love ‘em so! They are about two sizes to big but with cost per wear I have now paid $1.50. WHOOP!

Ok seriously I’m not a fan of wishing time away but I can’t wait for this month to be over because May 26th the 4th season of Arrested Development is BACK! It’s almost too good to be true. After re-watching the season the past few weeks I have to say that Lucille might be my new favorite. Utter ridiculousness.

I found this necklace at Topshop in LA and ran around the store in utter happiness. How often do you find a dinosaur skeleton necklace, right?! I wasn’t sure what to pair it with and then I figured I should just wear it with different shades of green. Dinosaurs + green = Sara’s outfit on Tuesday.

In other news I watched Grease 2 the other night and it still holds up to being awful. Don’t even get me started on Michelle Pfeiffer’s mouth…yikes.

I was told that I should take pictures of this outfit by my co-worker Miranda. Whatever Miranda tells me to do, I guess I have to do. Everything except see the new Great Gatsby…BOOM.

I bought this dress last summer and I think this is the first time I have worn it. Too much clothing. I think it definitely enhances my pale skin. Put on your shades when you look at these pictures because you might go blind.

Thank goodness the weather has shaped up so I can start wearing more dresses and leaving the house with wet hair.

You might be asking the question “where have you been, my lovely” especially if you are a Darjeeling Limited fan. Well, the answer to that is I’ve been busy, seriously where did April go? If that answer isn’t good enough then how about I was on vacation in California last week? Yes, ok? Cool.

I was there last week and it was wonderful. The weather was perfect, people were nice and food was fresh. The time change was a little tiring, meaning I was ready to go to bed at 7pm but I saw a lot of comedy shows met my favorite standup (PFT!) and saw Ben Schwartz walking down the street. Cool or COOL?

These pictures are important. Important because this is the second day I have gone without washing my hair. I’m trying to see if it makes any difference to this hair of mine. I bought Suave dry shampoo last night and I’m not sure how I feel about it…I also bought a shower cap. Somewhere between going to LA and that shower cap I have turned into my grandmother (RIP G) and that is a great thing!

Between improv, work, Reds opening day and sleeping I haven’t been on here lately. Sometimes life just keeps moving and you don’t get the time to take pictures of yourself.

Kenny took these a few weeks ago when it was chilly today it’s breezy and in the 80s! Spring time is the right time, the right time to go sit on a patio and drink something cold while watching some baseball.

Time and light is on my side I just need to carry my camera more often.

Whenever I say “I have no clothes to wear” it is just me being dramatic. But I have realized that I don’t have any good transition coats. A spring coat? A ‘it’s not snowing but still not warm’ coat. Something a little heavier than a trench coat. If I find something on sale it’s mine, otherwise I’ll make it work. (I hope you imagined that being said in Tim Gunn’s voice, thank you)

Sorry I’ve been absent around here lately. Our improv group has been busy performing, watching other shows and practicing - all within this past week. We had our first show last week and it was awesome! I’m glad to be performing in my life again. When I first started college I was a theatre major because I thought I was going to be this amazing actress. That didn’t work out but I’m glad to be back on a stage a few nights out of the week. Feels good.

Not to complain about the weather but 37 degrees at the end of March is not what I had in mind. Spring you are more than welcome to come around and stay anytime now.

Kenny and I are now joint owners of Mad Men season 5. He is catching up since I told him season 6 starts on April 7th and I am not waiting. I have to see what happens. I cannot wait any longer!

One more thing - my friend Jamie got this tote for my birthday. I absolutely LOVE it. They have a Wonderful Wizard of Oz tote and I’m dying to order it right this minute. That and Keds is having 20% off your purchase. Oh the tempting ways to spend money on the internet. Welcome to the 2010s.

Well, my mom was in Columbus on Wednesday so I took the day off and she and I went shopping. She is one of my favorite people to go shopping with because I enjoy her company. She might have purchased a few items for me so that just elevates her in my book.

We were in F21 as I was on the hunt for a black tank top with lace trim (which I ended up finding at Gap). As I was searching this shirt jumped out at me. And I immediately thought “I can wear this to the Bengals games with Kenny”. After wearing it though I kind of love it more than I thought I would. It’s just fun and sometimes thats what clothing needs to be. Kenny thought it was cool. Sara for the win!

As you all know I shop often, clothing is a hobby of mine. But I like finding the deals. I’m a hunter and a digger. Kenny says I have a way of finding something I like and figuring out how to pay $4 for it. It’s like a game for me and I want to win and then brag about how this dress was originally $98 and I found it for $20. My problem lays when I get home. My closet is small and with all these good things I buy I don’t know the best way to display them. Last year my goal for turning 25 was to be more organized. Well, I’m still figuring this out for my life…but my closet is my main obstacle. My dad is building me shoe racks so that is my starting point. I also need to do a little spring cleaning and purging then I can reassess everything that needs to go in it.

With all that being said I’m thinking of doing clothing remixes. But not the whole 30X30 challenge, smaller ones like 10x10 or 15x15 for the next few weeks. Nothing serious, just playing stylist with my clothes. I want to do it old school and take a break from shopping because my friend Bailey and I are heading to LA (!) next month and I need to be kind to my wallet before then.

First off, I’ve found an everyday lipstick. I’ve been looking for a nice neutral but usually they were too nude and just blended in with the rest of my face. I’m pale. I really love this one and need to thank my mom for buying it for me. Thanks mom! And thank Sephora for carrying it. Thanks Seph!

Second off, I eyed this scarf every time I went into Target. Last week I just bit the bullet and bought it. A little belated bday gift to myself. It was a hit at work, everyone loved it. Target, you win again in my closet.

Third off, I thrifted this bag for maybe $3 when I was in college. It’s vintage and one of the best finds that hangs in my closet. I always forget I have it and when I find it (a lot of stuff hangs in that closet) it thrills me to no end. I love you little bag.

In case anyone was concerned after my last ranty post about emotions and the Pope, I’m feeling much better. Mother nature loves me and the world has declared a new Pope. It feels like everything is as it should be.

I went shopping with my mom yesterday and bought all sorts of goodies. And when I say bought I meant she bought for me because she loves me and I her. I need this weather to speed up to warm so I can wear all this stuff pronto but it looks like 43 degrees skies here for the next week or so. I guess I’m wrong, mother nature and I are still at odds with one another…

In case you couldn’t tell I was not in a good mood when these photos were taken. Maybe because it was Monday or maybe because it was raining and we had to take these photos inside. Suede shoes + rain = a no, no. OR MAYBE it’s because I really want to buy these Keds for Madewell sneakers but don’t need to spend $62 on another pair of Keds. Way to raise the price Keds…and $75 for the Kate Spade collection? Um, not cool! But free shipping…Either way I just feel like I’m in a rotten mood this week. I guess I can blame it on the weather and more importantly being a woman.

Am I getting too personal? I mean it’s something we all had to learn about in 4th grade or found out about while reading a Judy Blume book. I almost said novel but that would be very wrong. Sorry Margaret and hi by the way. God is out and the Pope is retired, so I guess me and this little blog will have to do. In 10th grade, when we were anxiously awaiting for the announcement of the new Pope (Pope Bbbb…Bennie), my teacher Mr. Yunker said to remember this because we would probably never see a new Pope announcement (that’s what I’m calling it) in our lifetime. Well, this turned out to be the one thing he was wrong about. And guess what, it was just as boring as the first one I saw.

I do wonder what Pope Benedict is up to these days? Do retired Popes live like retired Presidents? I mean, I know Popes have retired before but that was a long time ago. I hope this doesn’t come across as me being against the Pope. I don’t want him to take personal offense to me ranting over here but does he get to keep a souvenir or something to remember his time? Maybe he’s a golfer, maybe he will play a lot of golf now. Yes, this is what I am going with in my brain.

All those thoughts because of wearing suede shoes on a rainy day. I guess I can end the day with a smile.

Kenny and I decided to take a little walk around Grandview yesterday since it was so nice out. He lives very close to the best consignment stores in Columbus and as we walked by One More Time asked if I wanted to go in (did he know who he was talking to?). We did and I bought two Spring dresses. This is all his fault. Thanks Kenny.

We walked around for about an hour, stopped by Subway and come home in time to watch The World Baseball Classic. USA won in case you were wondering. I took a nap. It was a pretty lovely little afternoon. Tomorrow it is supposed to be 36 degrees. Let’s hope that 62 comes back to visit real soon.

First of all, I would like to point out that these pants almost match the color of my skin. If they were a tad more…porcelain, it would just blend right in and you wouldn’t be able to tell a difference. Fortunately for me these do not match my skin and they look more peachy on me than anything.

Another plus of these pants, I found them for $40. Now, that might now sound like a deal since I found them at a consignment shop but these jeans are like $160 y’all! They are the same style as my denim ones and I love them. Springy, eh?

How about the nails? They turned out pretty cute. I still would like to talk to Pantone about this emerald color. Shouldn’t emerald be a little deeper green? Am I going crazy here? This is all information stored in my brain that I’m not sure is correct. Forgive me Pantone, sometimes my brain gets the best of me.

I feel great. Daylight savings time is in full effect and even though we lost an hour I love seeing it get darker later and I feel motivated. My clothes are all laid out for tomorrow and my lunch is packed and ready to go. Come on warmer weather, Ohio is patiently awaiting your arrival.

This is what happens overnight when you live in Ohio. You go from green to white and everyone complains about it in a status update on Facebook. I really don’t mind the snow, I’ve lived with Ohio winters my whole life. The trees look pretty and at any age it’s always fun to play in. The only thing that bites is cleaning off your car. I live sans a garage and cleaning off the car in the morning is a pain. But it’s March and it’s still winter. Plus, with that 50 degree weather we have coming up this stuff will melt in no time. Amen.

My parents got me this sweet little MJ bracelet. Kenny said “Man, do they know you or what?”. They do and I love them. They also got me these shoes for Christmas. I give them an A+ on being so nice as to still buy me gifts.

I would also like to note that when the weather is like this it makes me want to put less effort into my hair. After looking at these photos I am ending that way of thinking. Putting effort into yourself is not shallow or overrated. If it makes you feel good than I say GO FOR IT. Right? Yes please.

Alright, let’s all go try that new taco. Shall we? You can judge all you want but it’s delicious.

Well, here it is, I’m officially 26. Yippee! I don’t know what else to say, another year another age. Sometimes it feels like it all blends together. I don’t mean this in a bad way but maybe Aaliyah had a point - age ain’t nothing but a number. RIP baby girl.

I do need to say that yesterday was pretty wonderful. Everyone at work brought in cherry coke themed items and it was delicious. Lots of cherry coke, cherry coke cupcakes, cherry coke bread and buffalo chicken dip. No cherry coke in that, just damn good. Later a steak dinner at Third & Hollywood (worth the wait) followed by a rainy walk to Jeni’s and a lot of bad joke telling. To end the day my supervisor (who was pregs) was induced in the morning and had little Trey later in the day. A birthday twin! That was a nice ending to a sweet day.

Also, that sweet little boyfriend of mine got me this and this. How he ever knew that I wanted those pantone nail polishes is beyond me, I never said a word. I said paragraphs. The Oz palette was a nice little surprise.

I could really go for a cherry coke right about now.

Best Week Ever

It’s March
My birthday is tomorrow, I may sound like a 12 year old cheering for her birthday but they are fun and you get to make everyone go to the restaurant of your choosing. How is that not wonderful?
My parents bought me a play-doh set for my (26th) birthday. It’s the “Doctor Drill n’Fill” incase you were wondering
Food - food is being brought in at work (!!), food tomorrow night and food on Friday with some work gals (Figlio!)
Also on Friday, Oz - Let’s hope this movie doesn’t stink. I have a feeling…but the books are great.
It is suppose to snow tomorrow (7 inches) but it’s Ohio and that is what happens. This could work out in my favor since the restaurant we are going to doesn’t take reservations - maybe no one will be there :)

17 Days

Ok it’s officially 17 days until Spring. I really hate wishing away seasons but here is how I feel about winter - if it’s going to be cold I’d rather it really snow so I have something pretty to look at. Otherwise it’s just rather…depressing?

But the great thing is that this is inspiring me to dress brighter, brighter, Brighter. Starting with these shoes that I found super marked down at DSW. Nothing says Spring like neon piped oxfords (and soles).

In other news I found a cute little necklace today at Anthropologie. Originally $58 and there she sat waiting for me marked down to $10. That is pure luck right there. I was on a search for the OPI Oz nailpolish, I saw it the other day and wasn’t too impressed but I’m happy with my other find. It’s like the shopping gods saying “Sara, you don’t need anymore nail polish right now however you could use another necklace. Here kid.” Thanks gods, thanks.

Retro Day

Monday was retro day at work. Do we always have theme days you ask? No, but the company that I work for was debuting their spring campaign commercials and they have a retro vibe, it’s really a lovely ad.

I wanted to wear a vintage dress and heels but since I now am on my feet 95% of my day I knew this was out of the question. So after playing around in my closet this is what I came up with. Checkered on checkered, comfy flats, nude fishnets for warmth and a scarf around my wrist a la old WIW. The skirt was moveable and the flats were comfortable. I forgot to wear my sunglasses for the pictures but they were a nice little finishing touch.

I’m really trying to delay getting up this morning because once I do I have to tidy my apartment. The folks are coming into town for a little pre-birthday dinner (Marcella’s!) and I can’t have them see this place as per usual. Although if they did they would just chalk it up to me being messy Sara, which is true. I’m more organized now than I was this time last year but I’m not sure it’s that much of an improvement. I’m always a work in progress. Alright, this pile of clothes isn’t going to hang themselves up. Sometimes I wish I could snap my fingers like they did in Mary Poppins and everything would be in ship shape. A girl can dream.

Birthday Wishlist

Next Tuesday I will turn 26 which officially makes me 20 years too old to be making a wishlist for my birthday. I’m at that point in my life where if I want something I just figure out a way to buy it. Except for Christmas, my mom is all about wishlists - and what she says goes. Anyhow, I thought that since this is all for fun I’d make one anyway. Maybe Santa can visit me early this year and drop these at my doorstep. It would be much appreciated :)
